Aaargh! A dog! What’s that doing here? Yes folks, today’s cat is a dog. It seemed like a good idea at the time! Today’s dog, Archie, is based on the dog owned by my friends Graham and Emma. I think I’ve captured Archie’s insatiable love of snacks!
As regular readers may be aware, last week I switched on my computer and it failed to boot up. No matter what I did I couldn’t get it up and running and I took it to a specialist. It turned out the Hard Disk had died. I have now got the computer back from repair, which is great news. However not without some sacfiice - every single hi-res version of The Cat Comic (which I had never backed up) are lost. There are now only the lo-res web versions. Also two pages of Girls in Space were lost, and will have to be recreated. And the worst part? There’s nobody to blame but myself!
So, if you work with data, be smarter than me and take a backup of your work. Better yet, set up a system of automatic back-ups (which I now have) and save yourself a lot of heartache.
So, given my data disaster, you may be asking yourself how I have a comic today? Well chums, it just so happens that because Archie is based on a real dog owned by my amigos, I had taken the hi-res versions to a local printer to have prints made up as a gift. As a result, I had this comic plus two more (of Graham and Emma’s cats) saved onto a memory stick, thereby saving them from destruction. So, next week, it’s back to the cats with Graham and Emma’s moggies.

Let me guess, a Scottish Terrier?
Yes – I think that’s what Archie is (not too knowledgeable about dog breeds to be honest – he’s a sort of white yappy short guy!)
Westie is short for West Highland Terrier. They are related to the Scottish Terrier (or Scotty Dog) but are not the same thing.
Hahaha, cute doggie!
Thanks! Got any biscuits for him?
Oooooo… I love archie! (I’m a dog owner myself) We had a westie when I was younger. He was a character
